brains solicitors are pleased to announce that solicitor Gemma Wayman has joined their private client team. She joins an experienced department headed by partner Julie Evans. Julie is a registered Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist (CTAPS), a Member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a Member of Solicitors for the Elderly, the combination of which makes her one of the most qualified and experienced practitioners in this field in the County.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to work in a firm so committed to the provision of legal services to the family and to have the chance to practice in this interesting and challenging field of law" said local girl Gemma.
Family life is now complicated, concerns about taxation and the future costs of long term care worrying many of the local population. Never has it been more necessary to plan for the future in order to protect one's hard earned assets and make sure that they pass to our loved ones.
"brains ethos is to treat our elderly clients with the dignity and respect they deserve. All to often they are made to feel that they have no voice and that their opinions have no merit. Not only is this unacceptable but it makes no sense, given that we will all walk in their shoes one day. Being old should not feel like you are being punished for a crime that you did not commit" says Julie Evans.
Effective planning through Trusts, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney can ensure that decision making on your behalf is given to those you trust to act in your best interest. Unfortunately even with the best planning in the world, sometimes this can go wrong and people find themselves embroiled in Trust or Probate litigation or arguments with the Local Authority about their care. It is important when faced with these problems you have the support and expert advice to help you through these often stressful and traumatic proceedings.
Furthermore when we are faced with the prospect of recession and the stark realities of the credit crunch it is imperative that probate matters are handled efficiently to ensure that any inheritance due to beneficiaries that might alleviate their financial problems is distributed as soon as possible.
brains are in the forefront of delivery of these services to families in Cornwall.
